This original painting was used for the 2010, Mardi Gras Up River poster in Jefferson Texas(Below).This town is a charming old river boat port withbuildings reminicent of vintage New Orleans the French Quarter and GardenDistrict. Steamboats once docked at its warf. Their Mardi Gras festival is a hoot and I love participating .

A bit of the Old West!
"Takin it Easy"

I love this era and will be doing more in this theme.
The setting is an old Saloon with few "freinds" getting together
for a frindly card game, strong libations and purdy (Pretty) scenery.
Over the years, I have been searching out authentic characters, essential elements, the
lore and atmosphere of this grand time in the American adventure. As a young boy I was lucky
to meet people who had known this time. Every summer grand-dad would have a horse waiting
for my brother, cousin amd me in a small Oklahoma town that retained it's pioneer character.
It is a real pleasure to explore this era through the creative process.
