New Orleans is truly magical as seen through the eyes of Artist, Tommy G. Thompson. At the heart of the city is the colorful and eccentric French Quarter, a fascinating cocktail of savory cafes, fabulous jazz and blues joints, crazy nightlife, unique shops and art galleries, all set in a fabled village of charm and beauty. Up the streetcar line is Uptown New Orleans with the elegant grandeur the Garden District, quaint neighborhoods like the Irish Channel and the River Bend with more shops, bars, cafes and great music venues. This city is populated with a cast of characters as colorful as the novels it has inspired., Omar the pie-man, Ruthy the Duck Lady, Chicken Man… Prince of Voodoo, Amzie the eternal Hippie - 'Da Vinci' and various musicians, artists, conmen, saints and sinners. Throughout, the architecture is distinctive and embellished with ancient live oaks and lush subtropical vegetation. The over effect is a sensual and cerebral cornucopia of delights.
Formally shown in the venerable Liberty Gallery by art aficionado and colorful personality, Joan Liberty, they are now available in select galleries and online.
