I used to love eating in a French pastry shop called 'La Marquis'. Munching wonderful pastry and sipping coffee in the cozy courtyard would often be accompanied by an impromptu serenade by local musicians. Of course I had a sketch pad and would enjoy a live sketch. La Marquis is gone now but there are many quaint & savory spots in the French Quarter today.
