New Orleans has a fun history of Voodoo. I was doing portraits on Jackson Square in the old French Quarter when I heard a crowd and jazz music. Down the block and around the corner from where I sat, the producers of James Bond, Live & Let Die, were filming the first scene of that movie. The movie had some colorful voodoo scenes in it which inspired me to capture this unique spirit of New Orleans colorful history. Look on the balcony... I painted a small sacred Datura plant with the large white flowers, sometimes used in the rituals.
